Competitive Company
"Perform your best, train your hardest
and enjoy the most of this experience."
- Diana Viselli, Competitive Director
From the Director:
I have taught for over 15 years, across different provinces in Canada and Internationally. I have seen many dancers come in and out of my classes over the years and seen first hand how a lot of competitive teams operate.
We are different....
....in the best possible ways.
The love, passion and commitment I see from not only the studio owner but the dancers, teachers and parents are unmatched. The supportive and encouraging environment, the comradery between dancers of all ages is so uplifting.
Competitive dance sometimes gets a bad rap, and understandably so. There are some tough and toxic programs, and tv shows to amplify it.
But there are also some great competitive teams. Where the teachers help dancers achieve their goals, where families are supportive to one another and where dancers can gain an entire second home and family for life.
I have watched dancers completely transform, becoming more confident, self assured and motivated individuals. I have seen lifelong friendships form and a long list of skills develop that will translate to many other areas of their life other than dance.
Life & Dance
We get it. Young people sometimes want to do it all. Dance, softball, piano lessons, swim classes; the list can go on. As they get older, part time jobs and social lives, plus balancing their school work becomes the juggle.
We are committed to staying true to a part-time program so that dancers can enjoy many other aspects of their life. We want to help maintain that balance of a committed competitive program and allowing them to still be kids.
Our Expectations
We want our dancers to be proud of what they have accomplished each and every season. We can set them up the best way we can but at the end of the day it is a give and take commitment.
We want dancers who will give it their all, when they walk through our doors they are committed to their team, their goals and their teachers.
On stage we want enjoyable, comfortable and entertaining performers. We really emphasize that it is not just about the steps but the story you are telling on stage.
Dancers on our competitive team are also expected to understand that they are role models and an extension of the studio. Every dancer will be someone else's idol, and you never know who is looking up to you for inspiration and guidance.
Teamwork, support and unity are key elements of our team. We work as family.
All students on our competitive teams are required to take our base program which includes Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. Optionals are also available, such as: Hip-Hop, Acro, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and Contemporary.
Ballet exams are conducted in late May at the studio, and is required for all competitive students. This will include a certificate given out during your last class.
Interested?
Contact us if you are interested in having a dancer join our competitive program. We would love to meet and see how we can welcome your dancer to our family.
